Lesson 3 · Practice

Your 60-Second Self-Introduction

Practice a crisp, confident introduction you can reuse anywhere.

A 60-second self-introduction is the single most useful thing you can have ready at all times. Interviews, networking events, podcasts, team intros — they all start with some version of "tell us about yourself."

Before you record, think about the Open-Body-Close structure from the last lesson:

  • Open with a one-line hook — the most interesting thing about what you do.
  • Body: two or three specifics — what you work on, what you're known for, what you're curious about.
  • Close with an invitation — what kind of conversation you want the audience to have with you.

Don't script it word-for-word. You want it to sound like you, not like you're reading.

When you're ready, hit the button to start recording. Aim for around 60 seconds — you can go over or under, but keep it tight.

Your prompt

Introduce yourself in 60 seconds as if you were opening a keynote at a conference. Who are you, what do you do, and why should the audience care?
