A 60-second self-introduction is the single most useful thing you can have ready at all times. Interviews, networking events, podcasts, team intros — they all start with some version of "tell us about yourself."
Before you record, think about the Open-Body-Close structure from the last lesson:
- Open with a one-line hook — the most interesting thing about what you do.
- Body: two or three specifics — what you work on, what you're known for, what you're curious about.
- Close with an invitation — what kind of conversation you want the audience to have with you.
Don't script it word-for-word. You want it to sound like you, not like you're reading.
When you're ready, hit the button to start recording. Aim for around 60 seconds — you can go over or under, but keep it tight.
